Topic: “DESIGN GUIDELINES FOR AN AGE-FRIENDLY CITY AND BEING AN AGE-FRIENDLY DESIGNER”

The AIA New York Chapter has developed in conjunction with their own Design For Aging Committee two documents which will be reviewed and discussed:

“URBAN DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURAL GUIDELINES FOR AN AGE-FRIENDLY NEW YORK CITY”
“TOP 10 WAYS ARCHITECTS CAN BECOME AGE-FRIENDLY’

These are both basic and yet well developed and thought provoking in terms of design intent for an aging population.
Review the materials and come prepared for discussion.

We’re very appreciative of Sarelle Weisberg, FAIA and the AIA New York Chapter who assisted in providing these materials.

(Glen Simmons, AIA of the Dahlin Group has also supplied the following web link of interest- http://successfulaging.milkeninstitute.org/)
