Our upcoming April meeting will be a very thought provoking study of a new type of Memory Care environment in The Netherlands.  As many of us know that as we age and live longer as a society the issue of Memory Care will be more profound.  Environments and care for those with memory care issues will need to be addressed and care with dignity provided.  Beyond specific living environments and care there are also the economics to be considered.

Come and see a documentary on a very new and different model with some interesting design characteristics that enable a 150 person Memory Care facility thrive and create a sustaining environment for those with advanced dementia.

Our session with conclude with a discussion of what was shown in the documentary and applicability to the U.S. marketplace.

Learning Objectives:

1. Learn about a different model of living environment for those with advanced Memory Care issues

2. Learn the reasons for developing this specific model

3. Determine the design features unique to this community

4. Discuss the applicability of this model in the U.S.
