Extracting, managing and displaying BIM data in Vectorworks with Worksheets.

In this meeting we will focus on the use worksheets to extract data from objects in a BIM model, and how to manage and display the data in tabular form.  We will show how to use worksheets to generate area calculations, lists of drawings, door and window schedules, equipment or planting schedules, and how worksheets can be used to make changes to objects within a drawing file.

About the presenters:

Peter Thayer,  OAG Architects Inc.
Peter has been using Vectorworks/MiniCAD sofrtware for over 15 years, providing residential architectural services with his firm in Benicia.

Paul Majka, Paul Majka Architect Inc.
Paul is a seasoned professional in Architecture with about ten years of experience with Vectorworks, and is currently running an architectural practice in San Francisco.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this program, attendees will have:

1. Learned how to use worksheets in Vectorworks to extract data from a BIM model, setting criteria to retrieve the desired information.

2. Learned how to perform calculations using the data derived from a BIM model.

3. Learned how to easily format worksheets for the desired results.

4.Learned how to use worksheets for area calculations, lists of drawings, door and window schedules, equipment or planting schedules, etc., and how worksheets can be used to make changes to objects within a drawing file.
