1.5 CES LU

Join us for a presentation on Dynamo – a visual programming application by Autodesk. In this lecture Colin McCrone from Autodesk will introduce the basic concepts of Dynamo, including examples of projects where Dynamo has been used.

About Dynamo

Dynamo is a graphical scripting platform that provides designers access to parametric modeling and data-driven customized workflows for Building Information Modeling. Dynamo allows users to automate BIM tasks, manage data, and easily build highly complex geometry. Dynamo can run as a standalone program or as an addin for Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Vasari, with the ability to manage Revit project files and family definitions. Dynamo is an open-source project with major resource contributions from Autodesk and from users like you.

About the Presenter

Colin McCrone in a very short time has emerged as a foremost lecturer and instructor for Autodesk.  As a computational designer and design software evangelist, he teaches and gathers requirements for digital design tools, manages customer interactions, and technical consulting services. Colin’s educational background includes architecture, physics, and French.

Learning Objectives

  1. Attendees will learn how to automate simple Revit workflows like placing beams with Dynamo
  2. Attendees will learn how to construct parametric relationships between Revit Elements with Dynamo
  3. Attendees will understand how to use Excel to drive Revit with Dynamo
  4. Attendees will understand how to construct complex geometry in Revit with Dynamo
