Vectorworks User Group: Exploring the New Features of Vectorworks 2015

In this meeting we will focus on the new features of the recently released Vectorworks 2015.  We will look into this extensive software upgrade which includes the shift to new technologies such as full support for 64 bit computing and High Resolution displays, and full adoption of Quartz Imaging and the deletion of QuickDraw technology.  We will also discuss the many new features as well as improved existing features for 2D and 3D drawing creation, presentation, and collaboration.  Many well used features such as Worksheets, Text, Dimensions, Stories, Spaces, Stairs, Windows, Doors, Publish, Import and Export, have been significantly modified with additional functionality.  There have also been numerous changes and additional content added to specific modules such as Landmark and Spotlight.  We will delve into as many of these new features as our time will allow.

About the Presenters

Peter Thayer – Architect, OAG Architects Inc: Peter has been using Vectorworks/MiniCAD sofrtware for over 15 years, providing residential architectural services with his firm in Benicia.

Paul Majka – Principal, Paul Majka Architect Inc: Paul is a seasoned professional in Architecture with about ten years of experience with Vectorworks, and is currently running an architectural practice in San Francisco.

  1. Learn of the many BIM improvements that help you to more effectively create and present your 3D models.
  2. See the improvements to the import and export functions for better collaboration with others.
  3. Learn to more easily bring in resources from external documents to improve the graphic presentation of your work.
  4. See the many tool and command feature improvements that streamline your workflow and improve your drawing efficiency.
