Emerging Professionals Year End Party
Another year is coming to a close and another year of development and growth is in store for the Emerging Professionals. To reflect on the year and look ahead to the coming year the Emerging Professionals of AIA East Bay are hosting a year end party at Wood’s Bar & Brewery in Oakland (1701 Telegraph Ave, Oakland, CA 94612) on December 8th at 6 pm.
This will be a great chance to meet up with your fellow Emerging Professionals and reflect on what you gained or enjoyed during the year. Reflect on the opportunities to work with some great organizations this year including Fam1st and Habitat for Humanity. We organized discussions on various subjects including: starting your own firm, LEED certification, and applying your skill set to other activities outside of the firm, to name a few. In addition we also enjoyed some great films and documentaries at the New Parkway Theater in Oakland.
Also, this gives us a chance to look forward to the coming year. We will begin to have organized ARE study groups to help set goals and help each other in taking and passing the ARE exams. These study “Boot Camp” camps are a big step for the AIA East Bay and the Emerging Professionals as they will expand on the resources that AIA East Bay already offers while providing goals, schedules, and a group effort towards licensure. We will also be expanding on our successful discussion forums with new topics and presenters. Remember that these discussion forums are for your benefit so topic suggestions are always encouraged. If something comes to mind during the party let someone know and if at any time during the year there is something that you had the slightest curiosity about, don’t hesitate to ask.
Lastly, we will continue to have great activities outside of the AIA East Bay office. Community events like the Fam1st Architecture Camp will enjoy its second year, Habitat for Humanity build days will allow us to give back to our local community, Parkway Theater movie days will allow us to bring great architecture film pieces to the public, and a multitude of other great times to connect, learn, and enjoy.
So come join us on December 8th for a good time and help us welcome the coming year.
