Laser scanning is one of the most cost effective and yet underutilized technologies in the construction industry today. It’s most basic cornerstone is that it saves significant labor and materials costs–which are the biggest expense on any project. The advantages of this technology expand beyond just identifying the as-built conditions. When used properly they become a valuable risk mitigation tool. Measuring at light speed, using terrestrial LiDAR laser scanning allows for fast, accurate, non–contact measurement that’s then converted into 2D or 3D models. Laser scanning is also an integral component of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) world. As the world pushes toward becoming more 3D in all we view, this is not just a trend, but is the new reality within the AEC world.
This presentation will help you to learn more about this technology and how it can benefit your company.
