At this meeting we will explore some of the advanced features of the import and export functionality of Vectorworks.  We will look into the ‘publish’ command for export in multiple file formats, and look at ways to setup and preview certain file formats after the export. We will also review the ‘import’ command, including added features for the manipulation of the imported content of some imported file types.

About the Presenters

Peter Thayer,  OAG Architects, Inc. Peter has been using Vectorworks/MiniCAD software for over 15 years, providing residential architectural services with his firm in Benicia.

Paul Majka, Paul Majka Architect, IncPaul is a seasoned professional in Architecture with over ten years of experience using Vectorworks, and is currently running an architectural practice in San Francisco.

Learning Objectives

  1. Learn to use the publish command to expedite export to multiple file formats for easier collaboration with others.
  2. Learn how to preview DWGs on a Mac and setup exported files prior to sending.
  3. Learn how to reference and crop some imported image files to reduce file size.
  4. Learn how to snap to the geometry and extract usable data from imported PDFs.
