Make the Connection: Cocktails, Conversation & Charity

July 23, 2015
5pm – 8pm
Location: Autodesk Gallery
One Market Street, 2nd Floor
San Francisco, CA

Make the Connection is an Annual Mixer that brings together professionals from the architectural, construction, engineering, facility management, green building, interior design and marketing communities in Northern California for an evening of conversation and cocktails.

Presented by AIA SF, AIA East Bay, SMPS, IFMA, IIDA, RECON, AEBL, and Drinks By Design.

Each year the proceeds from the Make the Connection event benefit a local nonprofit in the Architecture, Engineering or Construction industry. This year, the 2015 beneficiary is the Cypress Mandela Training Center, Inc. Located in Oakland, CA, the Cypress Mandela Training Center offers a free 16-week pre-apprenticeship program for Bay Area men and women over 18 years old. Training is both hands-on and in the classroom, and prepares students for skilled trade jobs that are relevant to today’s construction industry. Students have the opportunity to earn college credits from UC Berkeley, UC Davis, or Laney College. In the past two years, over 85% of the graduates were placed in jobs.
