Free, all are welcome. No RSVP needed!

1.5 CES LUs

As a follow-up to our last meeting on improving sites for building and landscape projects in a 3D environment, we will continue using other parametric and BIM tools in the Site Planning toolset to set-out the property line and to fine tune the grades around a building.  Then using Building Shell and 3D Tools and commands, we will focus on modeling and integrating the foundations: mats, slabs on grade and stepped footings.

About the presenters:

Peter Thayer, an architect at OAG Architects Inc., has been using Vectorworks/MiniCAD software for over 15 years, providing residential architectural services with his firm in Benicia.

Paul Majka, principal architect at Paul Majka Architect Inc. in San Francisco, is a seasoned professional in architecture with about ten years of experience with Vectorworks.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to:

1. Set out property lines using Northings and Eastings.
2. Modify a digital terrain model for foundation excavations and drainage.
3. Model mat foundations, slabs on grade and stepped footings.
4. Integrate foundation models into digital terrain models.
