As part of San Francisco International Airport $2.4 Billion Redevelopment project, multiple design and consultant teams including Woodsbagot, HKS, Gensler, Kuthranieri, and others worked together for the redevelopment of SFO Terminal 1. The main challenge of utilizing BIM in a project of this scale is collaboration and efficient management of data. This session presents how Autodesk C4R is used to enable the teams to collaborate live in Revit, BIM 360 Docs and Glue used to share and coordinate effectively, and how Ideate tools were used to link large amount of data from Excel files to Revit more efficiently.
About the Presenters:
Pardis Mirmalek is an architect and programmer who’s work focuses on the overlap of design, data and technology. She has worked on a diverse range of projects in New York, San Francsico and Dubai. She received her master of architecture from Princeton University and is currently working as the BIM manager for Woodsbagot-HKS Joint Venture Partners for the SFO International Airport Project.
Sam Tahmasebi, PMP, LEED GA is the BIM Manager from Gensler San Francisco who holds a Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Construction Management from Columbia University. Prior to SFO project, Sam’s experience includes delivering and managing large scale BIM projects in New York including MTA East Side Access.
