AllWest is interviewing candidates with a diversified skill set and experience to conduct and manage sophisticated property condition assessments for our San Francisco office. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely completion of assignments and the associated due diligence reports for commercial real estate transactions.

Successful candidates must demonstrate professional experience with building design, materials, structure and construction, and be familiar with a variety of commercial and income-producing building types, Specific Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) experience, with operational experience is a plus desired for this position.

The strongest consideration will be given to candidates who exhibit excellent technical writing skills regarding MEP systems, have working knowledge of a wide variety of these system types, and the interrelation of systems and their components.

Excellent writing skills are paramount.

The candidate will have 10+ years experience conducting projects and assessing a diverse number of properties in accordance with ASTM E2018-08. In addition, expertise in evaluating mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, life safety and elevator components (MEP), assessing their condition, and estimating costs to repair, refurbish or replace the components or systems is required.

Experience with alternate energy sources, “green” solutions, and/or new systems technologies, and/or estimating potential operational cost savings will be a plus. Experience designing systems is not necessary, though helpful.

The successful candidate must be:

  • extremely competent in Excel, CAD  and other pertinent      software programs
  • be well organized
  • have excellent time management skills
  • be self-motivated and a self starter
  • have excellent communication and technical report writing skills
  • experience with proposals, business development and client management skills is a plus

AllWest project assignments are primarily in California.  Some travel to southern CA should be anticipated. The position typically involves approximately 40% field time and 60% office time.

Education Requirements:

Successful candidates should be a registered professional with a bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering and at least 10 years experience. A PE registration in Mechanical Engineering is not required, but will be a strong consideration. Candidate must have business development, proposal writing, and client management skills. Preference will be given to candidates with a network of potential clients; and a strong professional network (MEP engineers, Elevator consultants, Façade experts, etc.).
