Shah Kawasaki Architects (SKA) has achieved healthy and steady growth as a result of the talent, commitment, intelligence, integrity, and solid professional skills of its staff. Today, with 12 people, SKA is one of the East Bay’s leading design firms with an excellent reputation for projects that are integral to our communities — from award winning fire stations, visitor and community centers to higher education, and other civic buildings.  We are a public sector firm that serves the needs of cities, counties and schools.

Culture

At Shah Kawasaki Architects we are professional and design oriented.  At the same time, we enjoy our office atmosphere, and working together.  Within Oakland’s Old Town, near 12th Street BART, our neighborhood is filled with restaurants and street activity.  A typical Friday includes grabbing a lunch-time bite at the farmer’s market, and ending the work week with cheer at our company happy hour.  Every few months we will catch an Oakland A’s game, visit one of our construction sites, or participate in a local fund raising / community activity.
