AIA CES

CESArchitect members of the AIA maintain a high level of professional knowledge by meeting AIA Continuing Education (CES) requirements.

In 2012 Architects are required to meet the following:

12 hours HSW (4 of which must be in sustainable design [SD])
6 hours in general continuing education (may be self-reported)

California Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE)

California architects are required to complete 5 hours of coursework in ADA and/or California accessibility codes each licensure year.  These hours are reported by the architect in the renewal process; AIA does not report MCE hours to the California Architects Board.
