Vectorworks User Group: Back to Basics

Tuesday, May 9, 2017
Free and open to all.

In this meeting we will review some of the basic tools and commands available in Vectorworks, and some of the less documented or less known features.  It’s easy to get stuck doing Vectorworks tasks a certain way when there may be a more efficient way of doing the same tasks. We have been looking at new features in the last few meetings, but it is never a bad idea to have another look at the existing tools and features, some of which may have been forgotten or overlooked.

About the Presenter:

Peter Thayer has been using Vectorworks/MiniCAD software for over 20 years, providing residential architectural services at his firm, OAG Architects Inc. in Benicia.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this presentation, attendees will…

  1. Learn at least three ways to be more efficient with common tools and their tool modes.
  2. See how to use time saving commands and their keyboard shortcuts.
  3. Gain an understanding of object scale and how to use drawing planes.
  4. Learn at least two less-documented but useful drawing features in Vectorworks.

All are welcome!
1.5 CES LUs

We will explore some of the more useful tools in the Vectorworks Tool Sets to accomplish and speed drafting and digital modeling tasks from basic 2D to more complex 3D creation and manipulation, as well as for building information authoring and communication, and their application to our professional practices.

As well, we will take time to field questions and to discuss issues that may be bothersome, or of interest to the group.
