2019 AIA Compensation Report

We are pleased to announce that the 2019 AIA Compensation Report is here! This report includes compensation data for 44 architecture firm positions in 28 states, 28 metro areas, and 16 cities. It provides an in-depth look at industry salary trends and expert analysis on where the market is headed, as well as information on workplace culture and the employee benefits, perks, and incentives that firms are offering to attract and retain top talent.

The report is available online through the AIA store. It can be purchased as a full report, nine individual regional reports, or a top area metro report. The nine regional reports each include the states and metro areas in that region from the full report. These nine regional areas are New England, Middle Atlantic, East North Central, West North Central, South Atlantic, East South Central, West South Central, Mountain, and Pacific. The top metro areas report includes data for 10 metro areas across the country: Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC.

If any AIA East Bay members would like to see the regional (Pacific) report before their purchase, please feel free to drop by our office and browse our copy of the report. However, the report is not allowed to be photocopied or distributed in any way. 

The AIA is also offering a free salary calculator tool. This AIA salary calculator allows members to see how their salary stacks up instantly with median salary and upper and lower quartile data for 18 key architectural staff positions.
