350 Bay Area’s Eco Home & Garden Tour

Curious to see examples of all electric resource efficient designs, heat pumps, induction cooktops, bark siding?

350 Bay Area has organized its first ever Eco Home and Garden Tour for Saturday, May 4. The tour will spotlight five eco-friendly homes in the East Bay, promoting ways to make local residences more sustainable.  Homes feature all electric designs and all electric retrofits, solar hotwater and solar PV, passive solar design, minimized concrete foundation, rainwater capture, salvaged and resource efficient materials, low toxic and natural finishes. Tour includes projects designed by Arkin Tilt Architects, Leger Wanaselja Architecture, MacLeod Design and Construction, and Zero Impact Architecture.

Homes are located in Berkeley, Kensington and Albany and will open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to about 100 attendees.  A luncheon for participants featuring guest speakers and sponsors will also take place in Berkeley. Along with educating the public, 350 Bay Area hopes the event will inspire community-wide involvement in fighting the climate crisis and raise awareness about climate solutions.

350 Bay Area is a local, primarily volunteer-run non-profit which seeks to stop all new fossil fuel projects and support 100 percent clean energy solutions that work for all. 350 Bay Area takes local action to protect our climate through outreach to state legislators, online campaigns and grassroots public actions.
