How Office Hours Mentoring Works

Facilitate a focused, 60-minute Zoom breakout room for one ARE division.

  • Walk through 2–3 practice questions (screen-share provided).
  • Model how to parse questions, eliminate distractors, and manage time.
  • Answer strategy questions and share resources for test-day readiness.
  • Light coordination with the PrepARE host—we handle Zoom and logistics.

Ready to help? Tell us your division(s), time zone, and preferred times. We’ll match you to a session and pair you with other mentors when possible.

What We Ask

Who Can Volunteer

  • Licensed architects at any stage of practice.
  • Professionals experienced in PcM, PjM, PA, PPD, PDD, or CE.
  • Mentors in any time zone—weekday evening and lunch-hour slots are especially helpful.

What Mentors Receive

  • Orientation, sample prompts, and facilitation tips.
  • Host support and Zoom logistics handled by PrepARE.
  • Recognition in our community channels where appropriate.

How much time does this take?
Most mentors contribute a single 60-minute session per week or per month. We cap the monthly range at 1–4 hours to keep it convenient.
Do I need to create materials?
No. PrepARE provides practice questions, a session outline, and a simple run-of-show. You bring your experience and conversation.
Can I switch divisions later?
Yes. Indicate multiple divisions or update us anytime; we’ll rematch you as needs shift.
What if my schedule changes?
Just let us know. We’ll pause or adjust your slot—no problem.
Is this open to non-members?
Yes. We welcome qualified volunteers from across the profession; Chapter partners helped you find us.
