AFSF Summer Design Institute 2023 Registration Opens!
The Architectural Foundation of San Francisco (AFSF) announces the AFSF Summer Design Institute 2023, a three-week distance-learning workshop in sustainable design and architecture for high school students. Participants will learn professional digital design tools, interact with architects and engineers, and create a portfolio of photo-realistic and video renderings of their original 3D designs. Each participant will receive individualized mentoring by a design professional from a local firm. The Summer Design Institute 2023 offers students an opportunity to develop their own design skills and to create a portfolio of work that they can use for college applications and career opportunities. Participants will learn professional digital design tools, receive 1-on-1 mentoring with an architect or engineer, and create a portfolio of photo-realistic and video renderings of their original 3D designs.
This Studio is being offered 2 times – 5 days a week for 3 weeks each (9:00 am – 12:00 noon (PDT)
– June 12 – 30, 2023
– July 10 – 28, 2023
In addition, every participant will be mentored by a professional architect or designer for a additional 1 hour session each week.
Drawing on the successes of their school-day and after-school programs, their established curricula provide a dynamic, real-world project-based learning experience where students gain high-tech professional skills and insights. As in all their programs, AFSF Summer Design Institute 2023 provides rigorous academic and professional experiences, providing youth with skills and inspiration to succeed in school, careers and life.
