California Safety Assessment Program (SAP) | AIASMC

The Safety Assessment Program (SAP) utilizes volunteers and mutual aid resources to provide professional engineers, architects, and certified building inspectors to assist local governments in safety evaluation of their built environment in the aftermath of a disaster. The program is managed by Cal OES, in cooperation with professional organizations. Cal OES Recovery SAP issues registration ID cards to all SAP Evaluators that have successfully completed the program requirements.

The SAP Info for the class is as follows:
The classes are broken down into 7 sessions of 1 hour each. With the confined time frame classes will start at 9:00 AM with lunch in class room. Bring your laptop! You’ll need it to take the SAP training.

Each attendee is required to purchase 2 Field Manuals:
ATC 20-1  Postearthquake Safety Evaluation of Buildings & ATC 45 Safety Evaluation of Buildings After Windstorms and Floods.

The ATC 20-1 & ATC 45 link to purchase books> Applied Technology Council Online Store (atcouncil.org)   These books are not required for the class, but are needed for field evaluations.
