Knowing the Process of Licensure & ARE Study Tools with Parva Markiw

Join us for a presentation on the proper way to navigate the NCARB licensure process and learn about some great tools and resources to conquer the infamous ARE exams. Also we will discuss and share real life experiences of being an emerging professional in the current field of architecture. After the presentation we will have an open discussion to answer any audience questions. This event will help emerging professionals have a better understanding of how to get licensed and how to study for ARE exams more effectively. Also we will discuss and share real life experiences of being an emerging professional in the current field of architecture.

About Your Speaker

Parva Markiw, AIA, LEED Green Associate is a native Iraninan and a project architect at DesignGroup located in Pittsburg, PA. Working on a multitude of healthcare and higher education projects with a passion of creating a long lasting impact at different scales. 

Pava is currently serving her second year term as a chair of AIA PA’s Emerging Professional committee. At the local level, she is a member of the AIA Pittsburgh’s Equity Diversity and Inclusion committee, Women + in Design committee in Pittsburgh, and part of AIA Pittsburgh’s Young Architect Forum. Parva’s focus through her involvement in various committees is to help emerging professionals at different stages of their careers and also amplify voices of minority and underrepresented groups.
