Overcoming Planning & Building Department Obstacles (1.5 LU)
An increasingly large part of our job as Architects is submitting for building and planning permits. Since the pandemic, the process has become more complex and the time to get even over the counter permits has increased significantly.
Sharing information will improve participants ability to better serve their clients as Architects and urban planners. This will be an interactive discussion where participants bring their own issues and experiences with different building and planning department.
The goal of this will be for participants to learn about permitting in various jurisdictions and to gain new tools to successfully navigate the permit process. A secondary goal will be to develop a matrix for us all to share.
About the Speaker
Deborah Lane is a residential architect with over 30 years experience working in the East Bay and Marin. She has experience navigating permits in Oakland, Castro Valley, Corte Madera, Tiburon, Sausalito, Berkeley, Oakland, Petaluma, and Sonoma, Alameda, Contra Costa, Sonoma & Marin Counties.
