AD Architects was established in May 1978 by Newell Arnerich and Robert Diaz. The two founding partners used their first initials of their last names to create the firm’s name. Arnerich and Diaz were seeking for projects and jobs that involved traveling abroad and throughout the United States. The firm is currently located in Lafayette, CA and Irvine CA. They also have offices in San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California.
The firm consists of other disciplines such as architect, planning, and interior design. It has three main focuses: multi-family housing, high-tech education research facilities, and high-tech manufacturing offices. However, entitlement processing of multi-family housing is slowly shifting the firm’s focus on unique and creative solutions and political skills. AD Architects describes their firm as passionate, adaptive, and creative. AD Architects believes in a positive, inclusive, and cultural environment where staff of all experience levels interact with clients from beginning to end of projects. One of their team-building activities is to visit numerous sites and to continue education opportunities for everyone, regardless of their experiences. Thus, AD Architects holds a stronger emphasis on young emerging architects, experience, and training.
One of the many clients that AD Architects enjoy working with are repeat clients for obvious reasons. The firm also enjoys working with new clients and continues to created successful project outcomes and fresh new designs.
To find new clients, the firm reviews opportunities for new areas of work twice a year. One of the firm’s most unusual project was a 3D Holograph environment with USC, Paramount Studios, and the team from Star Trek.
As for the future, the firm believes in having fun with exciting projects in China and in other countries. AD Architects has been an established firm for 41 years and will continue to make a positive impact for the next generations.
