M I Architects, Inc. is seeking a full time Architect / Senior Designer / Job Captain. We are located in Walnut Creek. California. We specialize in commercial developments such as convenience stores, carwashes, retail stores, restaurants, mobility stations and community centers. The candidate must have excellent skills and direct experience in commercial, retail and restaurant facilities. This position is an opportunity to learn and grow. You will gain experience in the architecture profession while being exposed to a wide range of architectural practices. The successful candidate must have the following:
1. Comfortable working with local jurisdiction, responding to project plan check comments, and facilitate building and planning submittals
2. Ability to develop Construction Documents for commercial projects
3. (7 - 10) Years architectural working experience
4. Comfortable working both as part of the team and individually
5. Able to assist and direct CAD staff to develop projects
6. Knowledge of the current California Building, Fire, Green Building Standard Codes, and ADA requirements
7. Detail oriented, excellent problem solver and self-motivated individual
8. Good listening skills and strong follow through
9. Able to handle more than one project at one time
10. Ability to interact effectively with consultant engineers and local agencies
11. BA in Architecture and California Licensed Architect is preferred, Strong written & oral communication skills
