Small Firms Forum – Is My Architecture Business Sustainable?

Come discuss business sustainability in terms of work-life balance. There will be a short presentation followed by a round table discussion. Spreadsheets will be shared to understand how business is doing and how to do better. Please bring questions and any tools or ideas you’d like to share.
An array of topics such as project progress and design fee tracking, income tracking, quarterly taxes, etc. will be discussed. 1.5 CEUs will be offered!
Speaker Bio:
Kerstin Hwllmann came to the US with a graduate degree in architecture and a scholarship to study at UC Berkeley. After graduating with a Master of Urban Design, she worked for Lindy Small Architecture from 1999 to 2009 where she learned the ins and outs of high-end residential architecture. Kerstin worked as a solo practitioner from 1999 to 2011, but she didn’t know the first thing about running a business. She became a
California licensed architect in 2010. From 2011 to 2017 she was the lead designer at Sogno Design Group and in 2017 she started her own company with more awareness of the business of architecture.
