Evan Jacob Promoted to Principal at SKA

We are pleased to announce that Evan Jacob has accepted our offer to join Shah Kawasaki Architects as a Principal. At SKA, Evan leads design teams on a range of project types, with a focus on fire stations throughout Northern California. Prior experience includes mixed-use, shell-core office, shell-core life science, multi-family and student housing, single-family homes, health care, and higher education projects.

A Bay Area native, Evan studied architecture in Oregon and Denmark, drawing from distinct influences of each place to shape his guiding principles of design. He believes that architecture is an invigorating process of discovery, and delight arises not only in the final built form but also in meaningful collaboration with clients, communities, builders, and design teams. His belief and design process mirrors Shah Kawasaki’s specialization in the design of public and commercial facilities that are welcoming, memorable and function efficiently.

“Arriving at Shah Kawasaki a year ago was a momentous occasion for me. It has been a thrill to collaborate with such talented design teams here, and to be a part of the firm’s evolving story of creating places of meaning for the public. I am eager to keep seeking delight with our partners at fire departments, cities, and counties here in Northern California.”

Evan holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon (1999), is a licensed architect in California, and actively contributes to the East Bay Chapter of the AIA. Outside of his architectural work, you can often find Evan on a bicycle of some sort, probably still thinking about buildings.
