Starting January 2025, the California Architects Board (CAB) is updating its policy on license expiration dates. New licensees will no longer have expiration dates tied to their birth month. Instead, licenses will expire two years from the month of issuance.
For example:
- A license issued on January 24, 2025, will expire on January 31, 2027.
- A license issued on March 13, 2025, will expire on March 31, 2027.
This change applies only to licenses issued on or after January 1, 2025.
