Sebastián Irarrázaval

With a portfolio that includes award-winning projects like the Biblioteca Pública de Constitución and the Hotel Indigo Patagonia, Sebastián’s designs are celebrated for their creativity and sustainability. His work has garnered prestigious accolades, including the RIBA International Award for Excellence and the AZ Award, highlighting his influence and leadership in the global architectural community.
Anne Fougeron, FAIA
Anne is a transformative figure in modern architecture with a career marked by innovation and excellence.
Anne founded Fougeron Architecture in 1985. Her firm is renowned for its commitment to design integrity, quality, and the thoughtful modulation of natural light. Her projects, which span residential, commercial, and civic spaces, are celebrated for their innovative use of materials and structural creativity.
Mark English, AIA
As a principal of Mark English Architects and a major voice in the architectural design community, Mark’s influence is profound and far-reaching.
Mark founded his practice in 1992, and his work is celebrated for its blend of artistry and practicality, emphasizing sustainable and enduring design. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic University and a Master of Architecture from Syracuse University’s Florence, Italy campus. Mark’s expertise is grounded in his extensive education and his rich professional history, including roles at prestigious firms and his leadership in the architectural community.
Anne Torney, AIA, LEED AP
With over three decades of experience, Anne has spearheaded award-winning projects like Casa Adelante at 2060 Folsom, recognized nationally with an AIA COTE Top 10 award for its excellence in sustainable design Her projects are renowned for integrating community voices and ecological performance, from supportive housing for formerly homeless seniors to revitalized mixed-use communities.
Anne’s leadership extends beyond her firm; she actively contributes to organizations such as the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition and lectures nationally on climate-responsive and equitable housing design. Her commitment to social equity and sustainability will bring a unique and inspiring perspective to this year’s competition.
Casper Mork-Ulnes
Known for his groundbreaking work and significant contributions to the architectural design community, Mork-Ulnes is a prominent voice whose expertise will undoubtedly elevate the competition.
Born in Norway and raised across Italy, Scotland, and the United States, Mork-Ulnes brings his work a rich tapestry of cultural perspectives. He founded Mork Ulnes Architects in 2005, a firm that melds Scandinavian practicality with the innovative spirit of California. With offices in San Francisco and Oslo, his firm has tackled projects on three continents, from master plans and mixed-use buildings to bespoke residences and minimalist cabins (The Architectural League of New York) (Archinect).
