Gunkel Architecture is seeking an experienced Senior Project Architect to fill a critical leadership position within our growing firm. Based in Emeryville, Gunkel Architecture is a 12-person firm with a vision to create dynamic and inspiring environments that foster dignity and empower end users. We specialize in residential, educational, and mixed-use projects, with a growing body of work in affordable housing, co-housing, and non-profit work. [BS1] We are currently seeking a talented Designer with a minimum of 3 years of working experience and a solid comprehension of technical drawings to work with our teams on a range of project types. The position will support our senior staff in the production of Construction Documents and entitlement packages, such as modeling, design, drafting, and detailing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
- 3-5 years working experience in architecture
- Experience in multi-family housing
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Rhino
- Minimum 2 years work experience in AutoCAD
- Preference for individuals who have work experience in Revit
The ideal candidate has a commitment to socially- and environmentally- focused work, has had a substantial role in working drawings for mid- to large-scale wood-framed multi-family housing developments, and can communicate effectively with other team members. The Designer will be required to understand portions of the building code, develop construction details, and coordinate the electronic and physical documents.
