Licensed Architect with significant experience in K-12 education projects of various types and sizes. Experience successfully leading project teams through all phases of a project. Desire and capability to lead a project team and develop new business opportunities. This is an exempt and salaried position.

Typical Responsibilities: These responsibilities are typical but are not all encompassing. Each person is expected to work collaboratively as a team member and to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver quality projects on schedule, within the project budget and the budgeted hours provided.

Lead QKA Pleasanton Studio including staff management. Be the primary source for monitoring staff performance and to take action to report both positive and negative performance in collaboration with Human Resources. Also participate in hiring process.
Serve as primary client point of contact for projects with support of firm Principals.
Contribute to QKA business development in the East and South Bay Area regions including representing QKA at conferences and events and developing client and partner relationships.
Participate in and contribute to the overall planning and management of QKA in collaboration with other Associates and Principals.
Review, revise and develop QKA procedures and standards to improve the quality and efficiency of our work product and processes.
Overall project management and team management responsibility for the Pleasanton Studio. Including setting budgets, goals and preparing work plans that clearly define staff expectations and following up to ensure successful completion of projects.
Review and negotiation of Client Contract and consultant Contracts for projects.
Review of project process and deliverables and coordination of quality control reviews.
Works with other PM’s, Associates and Principals to manage staffing for all projects.
Provides training, support and mentorship to staff members on their project teams to increase their skill set and knowledge of the firm’s work.
Collaborate with team members in a positive manner to meet goals and objectives.
Knowledge and Experience:

Architectural License required
Minimum 10-15 years of experience in the field of Architecture, minimum 3-5 years of experience with K-12 school projects.
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage diverse teams effectively and create a supportive and collaborative working environment.
Clear interest in improving the overall quality and efficiency of QKA’s work and processes.
Strong leadership and business development skills
Ability to resolve issues with staff and consultants, and ability to ask for help from HR and/or Principals if needed
