Our discussions for the evening will once again focus on site improvements. Bob Cleaver, landscape architect, will lead the discussions and presentations, taking us beyond basic site model creation to modeling the terrain in detail using the tools in Site Planning toolset and commands for Vectorworks Landmark and Architect users. We will also show how to integrate structures onto and into the site and to determine cut-and-fill quantities.

About the Presenters:

Bob Cleaver of Cleaver Design Associates, is a landscape architect with a practice started in 1996 and currently located in Lafayette. His work is a mix of residential, winery and school projects.

Paul Majka, Principal of Paul Majka Architect Inc., is a seasoned professional in Architecture with about ten years of experience with Vectorworks, and is currently running an architectural practice in San Francisco.

Four Learning Objectives:
After completing this program participants will…

  1. Learn how to manipulate the site using pads and grade limits, grading and hardscape tools.
  2. Understand when to draw traditional contours in plan or to use parametric site modifiers, and to use the power of 3D polygons.
  3. See how texture beds can quicken conceptual design how to take advantage of keyboard shortcuts to speed your workflows.
  4. Learn how to integrate structures onto and into the terrain and the associated quantities of earth moved to accommodate them.
