The New Old Oakland Waterfront – Presented by RUD
A presentation and conversation about the reconnection of public access to the waters of the Oakland Estuary and San Francisco Bay. Sarah Kuehl of Einwiller Kuehl landscape architecture will present an overview of work on the water’s edge of Oakland. Projects discussed will include Bridge Yard at John J. Sutter Regional Shoreline, Jack London Square, and will focus on the newly opened Township Commons at Brooklyn Basin. Topics of interest include adaptive reuse, creating public space that is truly public, and the importance of spatial sequence and procession in landscape.
