Did you know that AIA has created a toolkit to help you advance equity in the profession of architecture?
Ryan Gann, AIA National At-Large Director and Chair of the Equity and the Future of Architecture Committee will share the Guides for Equitable Practice, a vital part of AIA’s long-term commitment to lead efforts that ensure the profession of architecture is as diverse as the nation we serve. Each chapter includes real-world-derived best practices, relevant research, and other tools to help you address a variety of employment and personnel issues about equity, diversity, and inclusion.
About Your Speaker
Ryan Gann, AIA, NOMA is an Architect and Design Strategist that has blazed a trail founded on service and design.
His professional portfolio spans architecture, urban planning, and experimental design investigations that enhance communities; expressing the role that we each play in nurturing a more equitable and sustainable future.
Ryan is the recipient of the 2018 AIA Associates Award, Schiff Foundation Fellowship from the Art Institute of Chicago, and was the inaugural Architect-in-Residence at the Hyde Park Art Center. Ryan currently serves as a 2021-2023 At-Large Director on the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Board of Directors and Chairs the Equity and the Future of Architecture Committee (EQFA).
About Your Moderator
Jaime Matheron, AIA is a licensed architect and Principal at DAHLIN. Born and raised in the East Bay, she has always been passionate about the charm of the Bay Area. With an expertise in residential design, she is equally adept at leading teams in serving the goals and needs of established, experienced homebuilders as she is at coaching emerging builders for success. A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she initially began her career designing K-12 educational architecture. As an active member of AIA, she became co-chair of AIA East Bay’s Young Architects/Emerging Professionals Committee in 2021, was elected to the AIA East Bay Board of Directors in 2022, and is currently the Board Secretary for 2023.
